About this webinar
After 23 years, the Code of Good Practice: Dismissal has been amended. It provides for simplified pre-dismissal procedures for small businesses and more comprehensive guidelines to larger enterprises concerning procedural and substantive fairness of dismissals.

Background to this presentation
The amended Code is is welcomed as it now provides for the dilution of rigid and protracted dismissal processes which apply to small businesses and in respect of employment on probation.

Michelle started her career in the field of employment and labour law in November 1996 when she was appointed as an Associate to a Judges of the Labour Court in South Africa, when the new Labour Court of South Africa was established. After her court experience, Michelle was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2002. She has specialised in Employment & Labour Law and Employment Equity compliance for the past 23 years.
Michelle has served as an acting Judge of the Labour Court on three occasions during 2013, 2024 and 2025. Michelle is frequently sought after to Chair complex disciplinary enquiries, to conduct sensitive grievance enquiries and investigations and to facilitate large-scale retrenchment processes. Michelle thrives as a litigator, a trainer, labour lawyer, employment equity compliance specialist and content creator

How to register
Kindly note that registrations are done online. For certification purposes, participants should register individually, using their own email address. This will enable the system to generate a unique username and password for each person.

LSSA/LEAD shall have the right in its sole discretion to postpone or cancel tuition in any programme initially advertised and offered based on insufficient demand. - Should LSSA/LEAD cancel the proposed training, registered delegates will be given reasonable notice of the cancellation and all fees paid by the delegate will be refunded.
