Medical Law (Introduction)

About this online course
This course focus on the basic principles in medical law and specifically medical negligence. Increasingly, more legal practitioners are pursuing these types of claims without having received training in this sui generis type of delict – the principles of which differ from other delicts. Participants will learn, amongst other things, about these differences and how to approach litigation in medical law in a practical manner. This two-month course is exclusively presented online with no contact sessions.Course dates

This course is essential for all practising legal and candidate legal practitioners, non-practising legal practitioners and other related organisations venturing into the field of medical negligence.Course material
The online course consists of three webinars, each focusing on a specific requirement of medical negligence and aspects of medical law in general. The material is presented in an interactive format, supplemented by written material for downloading from eLeader – LEAD’s online learning portal. You will be expected to test your own knowledge by way of a self-assessment after each module as well as completing a written assignment.

This e-course is presented in English only and all assignments must be submitted in English.
