Handling the Administration of Trusts

This course focuses on the theory relating to trusts rather than the practical drafting of trusts. It is essential that anyone rendering services relating to trusts understands the fundamental principles of trust law before doing so.

About this Course

The course covers the basic principles relating to trusts, as well as the different types of trusts available in South Africa. It includes discussion of the provisions of the Trust Property Control Act and other legislation relevant to trusts.

The aim of the course is to address the misconception that trusts are complicated, which can result in practitioners avoiding the rendering of services in this field of law. The course sets out the legislative requirements and compliance obligations relating to trusts, enabling participants to better understand trusts and their practical application.
