The Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) brings together the Black Lawyers Association, the National Association of Democratic Lawyers, and independent attorneys in representing the attorneys profession in South Africa.
The LSSA is situated in Menlo Park, with its Legal Education and Development (LEAD) division situated in Brooklyn.

The Legal Official / Researcher reports to the Professional Affairs, Senior Manager and will have the following qualifications and experience:
- LLB qualification.
- Admitted as practising legal practitioners (Attorney/Advocate).
- 3 years post admission experience as legal practitioner.
- Legal research experience within the legal environment.
- High levels of MS Office competence.
The incumbent will have excellent communication skills at various levels, both verbal and written. Understanding and knowledge of expect committees, competence in legal research work, excellent relationship-building skills, reporting skills, and knowledge of the legal profession.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Assist in coordination and attend specialist committee meetings and provide technical legal support.
- Litigation provide technical assistance in all litigation processes.
- Exploring and researching areas relating to the law and legal profession.
- Writing articles on judgments of impact and interest in the legal profession.
- Provide technical legal support, monitor and analyse legislative and policy Developments.
- Assist in providing in-house legal advise.
- Assist with legal profession related queries.
- Facilitate and assist in identifying professional interest topics in collaboration with LEAD activities (webinars, seminars, and educational events).
- Assist Professional Affairs Manager in implementing decisions and instructions.
