This leadership programme for female legal practitioners is specifically focused on the legal profession and its unique business models. This programme will help you to: grow your law firm or further your career in the legal profession; identify your niche leadership qualities by completing the internationally acclaimed Belbin report; and use professional strengths to achieve better results in career growth and development.

Who can register?

Female legal practitioners with at least three years’ post-admission practical experience as an attorney, advocate or legal advisor in a corporate or government entity.

Dr Jeanne-Mari Retief

Jeanne-Mari is the co-architect and faciitator of the LSSA’ s Significant Leadership™ Programme. She is an admittedattorney and specialises in the development of international human rights and constitutional law. Jeanne-Mari has successfully completed legal projects for various key stakeholders in the global legal arena and is known for her creative and passionate approach to the evolution of a modern legal profession. She has assisted law firms with team restructuring and is called upon to evaluate the strengths members could bring to the team, prior to appointment.

Dr Makgathi Mokwena
PhD Psychology (UJ)  Honours: Speech & Drama (Rhodes)
Makgathi is a registered expressive arts therapist and worksi n the leadership development field. Her work largely centres on personal development and learning, and references the self within the context of a larger team/community/system.
She uses integrative and participatory methodologies. Makgathi has been a key presenter in the Significant Leadership™ Programme since its inception in 2014. Her thought-provoking sessions never fail to inspire.

Margaret Scroope
BA HED (University of KwaZulu-Natal)
Margaret runs her own training company, M&M Associates, which specialises in the training of business communication. She has a gift for making a potentially dull subject come alive, and is clearly committed to making a difference to people’s confidence in their communication skills and ability. She has been a valuable member of the Significant Leadership™ Programme team since 2015 and is known for her passionate and riveting delivery of the persuasive writing message.

Ignaz Fuesgen
Executive MBA, Carlson School of Management (USA) Master of Social & Economic Sciences, Vienna University of Economics & Business (Austria)
Ignaz has more than 17 years’ experience in professional services with a focus on market strategy, service portfolio management and business development. He is the co-founderand director of Avuka, a boutique firm specialising in professional services training, as well as founder and director of KOHMAP Consulting. Prior to Avuka and KOHMAP, he worked in executive positions for management consultancies and law firms in Europe and Africa, such as KPMG Consulting,Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy and Webber Wentzel.
