About this online course and what the programme includes

This course will give legal practitioners easy access to the key concepts of Child Law as applied in the Family Courts and High Court.

Presenter

Elizabeth Nieuwoudt, is as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa. Ms Nieuwoudt was admitted in March 1994. Ms Nieuwoudt is currently employed by Legal Aid South Africa, formerly as the Civil Legal Principal of the Pretoria Local Office and currently as the Head of Office at the Tembisa Local Office. She specialises and acts on behalf of the children in Children’s Court and High Court and is frequently appointed by Judges to act as curatrix ad litem for children in all types of High Court applications and disputes.

Course presentation
This course is conducted online and all communication is done via eLEADer, Legal Education and Development (LEAD’s) online learning portal. The material is presented in an interactive format, supplemented by downloadable written material.

The training is intensive and demanding and requires hard work and dedication. To enhance the learning experience, there is an online discussion platform where you can interact with other participants. In addition, the course facilitator will be available online at given times. This course is presented in English only and all assignments must be submitted in English.

Kindly note that you can only register online and that there are limited spaces available. Participants should register individually to enable the system to generate a unique username and password for each person.
