Programme Overview

Joint Initiative:
This online course is a collaboration between the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) and the Enterprises University of Pretoria (EUP). Student registration and course administration are facilitated through Enterprises University of Pretoria.

This intensive short course provides a practical and legally grounded understanding of South Africa’s business rescue framework under the Companies Act 71 of 2008.

Participants will explore the full business rescue lifecycle including:

  • Business rescue practitioner powers and responsibilities

Emeritus Professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria.

Professor Boraine specialises in insolvency law and business rescue and is co-author of Meskin: Insolvency Law, one of South Africa’s leading insolvency law publications.

He has consulted for the World Bank on insolvency reform initiatives and actively contributes to legal education and professional development.
